Staff Software Engineer - Post-Silicon Infrastructure
ArmJob Title
Staff Software Engineer - Post-Silicon Infrastructure
Role Summary
Join Arm’s Chandler Characterization team to develop software infrastructure that enables post-silicon validation and characterization of Arm SoCs. Build scalable tools and frameworks that connect hardware, firmware, workloads, instrumentation, and data collection to turn engineering experiments into repeatable capabilities.
Experience Level
Senior-level (Staff). Experience building systems software, automation, and test infrastructure is expected.
Responsibilities
Deliver reliable, reusable software and automation to support post-silicon validation and characterization.
- Design and implement reusable post-silicon software infrastructure and frameworks.
- Develop Python automation for workload orchestration, platform controls, instrumentation, and data collection.
- Develop and maintain CI, regression, and unattended test execution systems.
- Integrate with firmware and hardware, debug platform issues using logging and telemetry, and improve automated test methodologies.
- Collaborate with validation, firmware, systems, and infrastructure teams to scale solutions across platforms.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience.
- Strong Python development skills; experience building automation, frameworks, or orchestration tools.
- Solid Linux systems experience, including APIs, configuration-driven software architecture, and system-level development.
- Experience developing CI, regression, or automated test infrastructure for reliable unattended execution.
- Experience diagnosing complex hardware–software interactions using logging, telemetry, and other diagnostic methods.
- Ability to design reusable solutions and collaborate across firmware, validation, systems, and infrastructure teams.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with C/C++, embedded systems, firmware interfaces, or SoC platforms.
- Experience with hardware-in-the-loop (HIL), lab instrumentation, telemetry, or equipment automation.
- Experience developing APIs for hardware control, workload execution, data collection, and failure recovery.
