Staff SoC Verification Engineer
Role Summary
Responsible for functional verification of NXP SoCs and subsystems, driving verification activities from plan through closure. The role works closely with design, IP providers, firmware/software, DFT and backend teams to achieve first-time-right silicon.
Experience Level
Senior - requires 7+ years of semiconductor SoC/cluster/subsystem verification experience.
Responsibilities
Core responsibilities include planning, building and executing verification environments and delivering coverage for SoC and subsystem designs.
- Analyze product requirements and develop verification and coverage plans.
- Design and develop pre-silicon verification environments for IP, subsystems and SoC.
- Execute verification plans rigorously to ensure first-time-right silicon.
- Integrate verification efforts with design, IP, firmware/software, DFT and backend teams.
- Drive issue closure and report verification status and coverage metrics.
- Support cross-site collaboration and mentoring of engineers as needed.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience:
- 7+ years of SOC/chip/cluster/subsystem verification experience in the semiconductor industry.
- Strong SystemVerilog and UVM experience for IP, subsystem and SoC verification.
- Experience developing pre-silicon verification environments and verification automation.
- Knowledge of microcontroller/microprocessor architectures (ARM A/M/R series), interconnects (NIC, FlexNoC) and cache coherency.
- Familiarity with bus and memory protocols: AHB/AMBA, AXI, ACE, OCP; memory types and controllers (Flash, SRAM, LPDDR/DDR3/4, SD, eMMC).
- Assembly and C programming skills; scripting for automation (Perl, TCL, Python).
- Strong problem-solving, communication and teamwork skills; ability to work in dynamic, multi-site teams.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with automotive and multimedia/networking protocols (LIN, CAN, Automotive Ethernet/TSN, PCIe Gen3, MIPI CSI-2, USB), GPU, DSP, image/RADAR processing.
- Experience with formal verification methods.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE / MSEE) with 7+ years' experience in the semiconductor industry as stated in the job posting.
