Staff SoC Verification Engineer
QualcommJob Title
Staff SoC Verification Engineer
Role Summary
Join Qualcomm's hardware verification team to plan and perform SoC-level verification for mobile and compute systems. The role focuses on developing verification environments, creating testbenches and test plans, debugging complex subsystems, and ensuring functional correctness across SoC, subsystem, and IP levels.
Experience Level
Senior - typically requires 7β10 years of hands-on experience in SoC Design Verification.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities center on architecture and execution of SoC verification activities and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Design and implement SoC- and subsystem-level verification environments and testbenches.
- Create verification plans, develop tests, and drive coverage closure at SoC and IP levels.
- Develop assertions and run assertion-based verification; debug functional issues to root cause.
- Perform system-level and boot-flow verification, including CPU and peripheral validation.
- Work on power-aware verification methodologies and power-management validation.
- Use scripting and automation to improve verification productivity and regression flows.
- Collaborate with design, firmware, architecture, and validation teams to deliver sign-off-quality verification.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and domain experience for successful performance in this role.
- 7β10 years of hands-on experience in SoC Design Verification (SoC-level testbench architecture, test development, and test plan creation).
- Proficiency in Verilog, SystemVerilog, UVM, SVA, and PSS.
- Experience with high-speed and memory interfaces: PCIe Gen5/6, USB 3.x/4, AXI/AHB, CHI, LPDDR4/5, eMMC, SD, UFS, QUP/QUPSS.
- Familiarity with processor architectures (RISC-V, ARM), NoC/interconnect architectures, and system boot flows.
- Experience with power management concepts and power-aware verification methodologies.
- Exposure to Gate-Level Simulation (GLS) and industry waveform/debug tools such as Verdi; strong root-cause analysis skills.
- Proficiency in scripting for automation (Python, Perl, TCL, or Bash).
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or related field with 4+ years of hardware engineering experience; OR Master's in the same fields with 3+ years' experience; OR PhD in the same fields with 2+ years' experience.
