Staff SoC Verification Engineer

Role Summary

The Staff SoC Verification Engineer will lead SoC-level verification activities and collaborate with RTL design and verification engineers across multiple locations to deliver high-quality system-on-chip products.

The role focuses on defining verification strategy, developing verification infrastructure and tests, and driving closure for complex SoC features and integrations.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include planning and executing SoC verification, building verification infrastructure, and coordinating across engineering teams.

• Define and drive SoC verification strategy and verification plans.
• Develop and maintain verification environments, testbenches and automation infrastructure.
• Create, run and debug directed and constrained-random test suites; analyze coverage and functional closure.
• Use simulation, emulation, formal methods and prototyping tools appropriate to project needs.
• Collaborate with RTL designers, system architects and software teams to validate integrations and interfaces.
• Identify verification gaps, propose mitigations, and report progress to stakeholders.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to verification engineers on the team.

• Must-have: Extensive experience in SoC or complex IP verification, including testbench development and verification methodologies.
• Must-have: Strong practical knowledge of HDL-based verification (e.g., SystemVerilog) and verification methodologies (UVM or equivalent).
• Must-have: Experience with simulation tools, coverage-driven verification, and debugging at RTL/SoC level.
• Must-have: Scripting and automation skills (e.g., Python, Tcl) and experience integrating verification into CI flows.
• Nice-to-have: Experience with formal verification, emulation/prototyping platforms, or machine-learning-driven verification techniques.
• Nice-to-have: Prior experience collaborating across globally distributed engineering teams and providing technical leadership.
