Staff SoC Performance/Power Verification/Emulation Engineer

Role Summary

Join Arm's System-on-Chip (SoC) Performance Analysis Team to develop early performance and power analysis platforms that enable system and SoC architecture exploration. The role combines verification, emulation, firmware bring-up and workload enablement to influence future SoC, CPU and IP designs.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Develop SoC verification testbenches for simulation and power/performance emulation.
  • Modify RTL and integrate IP blocks to build multiple SoC variants for analysis.
  • Implement and modify system-level firmware and perform board/SoC bring-up to run test cases.
  • Verify SoC functionality with bare-metal tests and OS boot sequences.
  • Enable workloads and benchmarks on RTL simulation and power/performance emulation environments.
  • Collaborate with architects to define and evaluate future SoC architectures.
  • Develop tools, workflows and automation to support SoC integration and analysis.

Requirements

Key qualifications and skills.

  • Detailed understanding of computer architecture and bus protocols.
  • Experience bringing up full-chip SoC test cases in simulation and emulation environments.
  • RTL implementation experience using Verilog/SystemVerilog.
  • Proficient in Python or Ruby, and C/C++; experience with assembly language.
  • Experience enabling workloads and benchmarks on RTL simulation and power/performance emulation platforms.
  • Excellent communication, partnership and problem-solving skills; proactive work style.

Nice-to-have:

  • Proficiency with Unix/Linux, scripting and source control systems (e.g., Git, Subversion).
  • Familiarity with one or more CPU instruction sets and ARM architecture.
  • Experience with compilers, assemblers or device drivers.
