Job Title

Staff SoC Design Engineer

Role Summary

Design and implement complex system-on-chip (SoC) features and subsystems for Arm silicon demonstrators. Work spans microarchitecture specification, RTL development, design-for-power, and collaboration with verification, implementation, performance and power-analysis teams.

Deliverables include micro-architecture specs, RTL, design checks and constraints; support integration, debug and documentation. Mentor junior engineers and coordinate with project management on schedules and deliverables.

Experience Level

Senior-level (Staff). No specific years-of-experience requirement stated.

Responsibilities

Accountable for end-to-end SoC design activities and team leadership.

  • Review SoC solution architecture and produce micro-architecture specifications.
  • Develop and debug RTL (Verilog/SystemVerilog); fix functional and integration bugs.
  • Perform static design checks, synthesis and timing analysis; generate power intent and implementation constraints.
  • Collaborate with verification, performance and power-analysis teams to validate and improve system behavior.
  • Mentor and coach junior engineers; drive improvements to design methodology.
  • Coordinate with project management on plans, schedules and delivery risks.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience.

  • RTL design experience for complex SoCs using Verilog and/or SystemVerilog.
  • Knowledge of static design checks, synthesis, timing analysis, power management and clock/power domain crossings.
  • Exposure to the full design flow: concept, specification, implementation, power/performance analysis, testing and documentation.
  • Ability to produce clear specifications and design documentation.
  • Shell programming/scripting skills (Tcl, Perl, Python or similar).
  • Experience mentoring or coaching engineering colleagues.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with Arm-based designs and Arm system architectures.
  • Subsystem experience (PCIe, UCIe, DDR/LPDDR/HBM, Ethernet).
  • High-level programming (C/C++ or assembly) and embedded OS/device driver experience.

Education Requirements

Not specified.
