Staff SoC Design Engineer
QuadricJob Title
Staff SoC Design Engineer
Role Summary
Senior SoC design engineer responsible for subsystem development, third-party IP integration, and PPA optimization across the full chip design cycle. You will work on SoC architecture definition, subsystem ownership, timing closure, and packaging releases for customer evaluation.
Experience Level
Senior - minimum 5+ years of hands-on SoC/ASIC front-end design and integration experience.
Responsibilities
Work across front-end and back-end stages to deliver production-quality SoC subsystems and improve power, performance, and area.
- Own SoC subsystem development and integration of third-party IP (NoC, PCIe/UCIe, DDR, security, etc.).
- Contribute to SoC architecture definition based on application requirements and software interfaces.
- Package designs for customer releases and iterate on feedback.
- Drive PPA optimization and apply low-power digital design techniques.
- Support timing closure across front-end, back-end, and tapeout stages.
- Balance single-stream latency and scaled throughput; debug complex SW/HW issues across the stack.
Requirements
Key must-have skills and relevant experience, followed by preferred qualifications.
- Must-have: Minimum 5+ years of SoC/ASIC front-end design and integration experience.
- Must-have: Proficiency in SystemVerilog or Verilog.
- Must-have: Strong background in computer architecture and low-power digital design; deep expertise in at least one subsystem (Memory, I/O, or Compute).
- Must-have: Experience with SoC subsystems including third-party IP and working knowledge of VCS and Verilog/C co-simulation.
- Nice-to-have: Experience in logic synthesis and performance modeling.
- Nice-to-have: FPGA design experience; familiarity with automotive safety (ASIL) and hardware security standards.
Education Requirements
BS, MS, or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
