Staff Sensor Subsystem Design Engineer
QualcommJob Title
Staff Sensor Subsystem Design Engineer
Role Summary
Design and verify high-performance sensor subsystems and constituent IP for Qualcomm Snapdragon platforms. The role focuses on RTL design, low-power implementation, protocol integration and advanced debugging for SoC subsystems.
You will work with Architecture, Software and SoC teams across locations to deliver production-quality IP and subsystems for high-volume chipsets.
Experience Level
Senior. Typical background: 4+ years of ASIC design, verification, validation, integration, or related experience. Alternative combinations (e.g., Master's with 3+ years or PhD with 2+ years) are accepted per minimum qualification rules.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include subsystem and IP design, verification, integration and support for production SoCs.
- Architect, design and implement sensor subsystem RTL (Verilog/VHDL).
- Perform design verification, validation and integration at subsystem and SoC levels.
- Apply low-power design techniques and UPF-based flows.
- Integrate and validate AMBA protocols (AHB, AXI, APB) and other on-chip interfaces.
- Use LINT, CDC and Synopsys simulation/debug tools (e.g., Verdi) to analyze and resolve issues.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (architecture, software, SoC) across sites.
- Provide technical leadership, mentoring and coaching within the team.
- Support design for manufacturability and high-volume production requirements.
Requirements
Key technical skills and experience expected for successful candidates.
Must-have:
- 4+ years of ASIC design, verification, validation, integration, or related experience (typical for this role).
- RTL design experience in Verilog or VHDL; familiarity with macro and micro-architecture.
- Knowledge of low-power design practices and UPF fundamentals.
- Experience with AMBA protocols (AHB, AXI, APB).
- Experience using LINT and CDC tools and debugging with Synopsys simulation tools (e.g., Verdi).
- Strong analytical, written and verbal communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, global team.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with high-volume SoC development.
- Proven technical leadership on complex subsystem projects.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's, Master’s or PhD in Science, Engineering or a related field are listed as acceptable. The posting accepts equivalent practical experience in lieu of a degree (examples given: Bachelor's + 4+ years; Master’s + 3+ years; PhD + 2+ years).
