Staff/Senior Staff Engineer, ASIC/NoC SoC Deployment Architect
Role Summary
Deploy and support QITC NoC interconnect technology across Qualcomm SoC product lines (Mobile, Automotive, Servers, IoT, Connectivity). Work with SoC architecture, HW/SW design, verification, and post-silicon teams to integrate and optimize interconnects for target PPA.
Experience Level
Senior - typically a seasoned engineer. Preferably 5β10 years of relevant SoC/ASIC experience; Qualcomm also considers equivalent experience.
Responsibilities
Provide technical deployment, integration support, and improvements for NoC/interconnect technology across SoC teams.
- Collaborate with architecture, hardware, software, verification and emulation teams to integrate NoC solutions.
- Define interconnect requirements and configuration for various SoCs.
- Provide technical support for new QITC solutions and resolve micro-architecture and integration issues.
- Develop technical documentation, debug procedures, and training materials; deliver trainings globally.
- Participate in feature definition and propose improvements to interconnect technology.
Requirements
Key technical skills and experience required to perform the role.
- Experience in SoC/ASIC design, architecture, or application engineering with strong hands-on integration experience.
- Deep understanding of SoC development flow: RTL design and verification, SoC performance analysis, DDR memory channels, physical implementation, and silicon debug.
- Knowledge of system-level features: memory-mapping, MMUs, QoS, cache infrastructure, and security schemes.
- Strong analytical and debugging skills in simulation, emulation, and silicon bring-up environments.
- Familiarity with interconnect and coherency concepts/protocols (AHB/AXI/ACE/ACE-Lite/CHI/NoC concepts).
- Scripting proficiency: Python and Perl.
- Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to work cross-functionally and adapt to change.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with high-speed interfaces, chiplet architectures, and coherency protocols.
Education Requirements
Master's degree in Microelectronics, Computer Science, or a related field is stated as preferred. Alternative acceptable combinations listed: Bachelor's degree + ~4+ years relevant experience, Master's degree + ~3+ years, or PhD + ~2+ years. The posting also accepts equivalent practical experience in lieu of formal degrees.
