Staff/Senior Engineer, OCT MTE CC
Micron TechnologyJob Title
Staff/Senior Engineer, OCT MTE CC
Role Summary
Lead contamination-control strategy and programs across fabs to identify and resolve process-related contamination and yield issues. Collaborate with manufacturing, process engineering, quality, and suppliers to drive yield improvement, cost reduction, and safe capacity expansion.
Support new process qualifications, supplier audits, and data-driven monitoring to prevent customer deviations and maintain production performance.
Experience Level
Senior β staff/senior level role. Minimum 5 years relevant wafer fab experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include contamination control strategy, capacity enablement, cross-site shipment protection, and project leadership.
- Drive global contamination-control (CC) strategy, programs, KPIs, and best practices to achieve zero customer deviations.
- Lead cross-functional alignment (Manufacturing, QRA, PE) to resolve yield, reliability, and cleanroom contamination issues.
- Use failure analysis, FMEA, 8D, SPC and data analytics to investigate and resolve process-related problems.
- Define CC guidelines for tool matching, process window expansion, cross-qualification, and advanced nodes.
- Integrate CC into capacity-expansion programs to enable throughput and fab utilization while preventing yield or reliability risks.
- Develop and standardize global wafer-shipment and cross-site transfer controls (carriers, purge, mini-environments) and monitoring SOPs.
- Establish data-driven monitoring (AMC, particles, humidity, temperature) and layered contamination defenses for early detection and response.
- Lead CC projects: set scope, metrics, resources, timelines, and provide structured updates to stakeholders.
- Manage supplier audits and collaboration to meet quality, cost, and contamination-risk objectives.
Requirements
Must-have qualifications and skills.
- Minimum 5 years relevant wafer fab experience.
- Experience with contamination control, yield improvement, and process optimization; familiarity with failure analysis, FMEA, 8D, and SPC.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional, multi-site projects and track KPIs.
- Good communication skills in English.
- Willingness to travel.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience applying data analytics or AI to optimize procedures, consolidate analysis, and support daily task optimization.
