Staff Security Verification Engineer
Role Summary
Join Arm's SoC Security team to lead verification of hardware security IP and subsystems. The role focuses on specification, test planning, testbench development, verification, and productization of security IP such as cryptography, key management, secure boot, and hardware root of trust.
Experience Level
Senior (Staff level). The posting indicates 10+ years of experience in design or verification of complex compute subsystems or SoCs.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include verification planning and execution for security-related IP and SoC subsystems, development of testbenches and models, and collaboration with design and project teams.
- Define and execute verification strategies and test plans for hardware security IP and subsystems.
- Develop UVM/SystemVerilog/Verilog and C-based testbenches, tests, and verification models.
- Debug test failures and resolve functional, power, and performance issues.
- Partner with design teams for functional, power, and performance sign-off and coverage closure.
- Contribute to and improve team verification and development methodologies.
- Mentor and support team members; coordinate with project management on plans and schedules.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience for immediate effectiveness in the role.
- Strong experience with SystemVerilog UVM, Verilog, and C-based verification.
- Formal verification and hardware/firmware co-verification experience.
- Verification experience in security hardware: applied cryptography, secure boot, and key management.
- SoC architecture experience: multi-clock domain designs, AXI/AHB protocols, multi-power domains, and reset architectures.
- Scripting experience (Perl, Python, Tcl, or similar).
- Experience with ARM-based designs and ARM system architectures.
- Low-level programming and firmware debug experience (C, assembler, tarmac logging).
Nice-to-have:
- Clock-domain crossing and power-aware verification experience.
- Additional scripting or automation expertise.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a similar technical field (as stated in the posting).
