Staff RTL Engineer
Role Summary
Design and deliver RTL and microarchitecture for high-performance AI/ML accelerators and CPUs. Work across design, verification, DFx, physical implementation, and silicon bring-up to move features from concept to production.
Remote role based out of North America or Taiwan. Compensation range for engineers: $100k–$500k total compensation (base plus variable).
Experience Level
Senior level. Candidates are expected to have substantial industry experience; typical hires have 5+ years of relevant ASIC/SoC/RTL engineering experience.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Develop RTL for complex digital subsystems, fabrics, debug/test subsystems, and SoC integrations using Verilog.
- Drive microarchitecture and RTL design, code reviews, and integration with surrounding IP.
- Collaborate with architecture, verification, DFx, physical design, and silicon validation teams to meet PPA and schedule targets.
- Debug pre-silicon and post-silicon issues, support silicon bring-up, and perform root-cause analysis.
- Optimize RTL for power, performance, and area while ensuring synthesis and timing closure readiness.
- Implement and integrate industry-standard protocols and on-chip interfaces.
Requirements
Must-have and preferred skills:

Must-have: Strong Verilog RTL design experience and familiarity with industry-standard simulation and synthesis flows.

Must-have: Proven experience in complex ASIC/SoC/chiplet development and microarchitecture work.

Must-have: Hands-on debugging experience across pre-silicon and post-silicon environments and silicon bring-up.

Must-have: Knowledge of common on-chip protocols (AXI, AHB, APB, I3C, SPI) and system-level integration.

Must-have: Ability to evaluate and optimize power, performance, and area tradeoffs.

Nice-to-have: Experience with DFT/DFD (scan, MBIST, JTAG, ATPG), SoC debug architectures, chiplet architectures, or RISC-V cores.

Nice-to-have: Contributions to open-source hardware projects or prior experience with advanced debug infrastructures.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience. (The posting also targets candidates with significant industry experience.)
