RTL Design Jobs, Level - Senior

Job Title

Staff RTL Design Engineer

Role Summary

Join an early-stage AI accelerator engineering team to lead RTL and microarchitecture design for high-performance silicon. The role centers on RTL ownership, microarchitectural specification, and cross-discipline collaboration through the silicon development cycle.

Experience Level

Senior β€” typically requires 10+ years of ASIC/SoC design experience with substantial hands-on RTL development.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include translating microarchitectural specs into synthesizable RTL and collaborating across design teams.

  • Own RTL design and microarchitecture for accelerator and SoC blocks.
  • Design and implement cache-coherent and non-coherent interconnects and related protocols.
  • Define and review microarchitectural specifications and deliver robust synthesizable RTL.
  • Work closely with verification engineers on validation, debugging, and performance analysis.
  • Collaborate with architecture, verification, software and system teams throughout the silicon development cycle.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience; nice-to-have items are indicated.

  • Must-have: 10+ years of ASIC/SoC design experience with substantial hands-on RTL development.
  • Must-have: Strong Verilog/SystemVerilog RTL design skills and experience producing synthesizable code.
  • Must-have: Experience designing complex SoCs, NoCs, interconnects, fabrics or high-performance processors.
  • Familiarity with protocols and I/O technologies such as PCIe, CXL or UCIe.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience working on GPUs, AI accelerators, CPUs or TPUs.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience with HBM, memory controllers or coherent fabrics.

Education Requirements

BS, MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
