Job Title

Staff RF Design Engineer

Role Summary

Design and deliver high‑integration RF/microwave modules and subsystems (multi‑chip modules, SiPs, rack subsystems) for aerospace, defense, and satellite applications. Work across hardware, digital, software, mechanical, process, and production teams from concept through qualification and production.

Focus areas include amplifier, up/down converter, synthesizer, and high‑speed data converter hardware design and CAD modeling, system tradeoffs, and verification to customer specifications.

Experience Level

Senior — typically requires 7+ years of relevant RF/microwave or electronics design experience.

Responsibilities

Core responsibilities include system design, integration, and technical leadership on RF/microwave programs.

  • Support EW, radar sensor, and communications programs from concept to integration, test, and debug.
  • Design and evaluate complex multi‑chip assemblies and architectures from DC to 40 GHz+.
  • Perform system and chip‑level tradeoffs: frequency planning, spur analysis, phase noise, gain, IP2/IP3, noise figure, etc.
  • Verify and validate designs to meet customer specifications, including prototype test and qualification.
  • Prepare technical proposal content, cost and schedule estimates.
  • Execute technology roadmaps, benchmarking, and release of products.
  • Interface with IC design, manufacturing engineering, program management, business development, sales, and production teams.

Requirements

Key must-have skills and conditions, plus preferred skills.

Must-have:

  • 7+ years of RF/microwave or electronics design experience.
  • Hands‑on RF/microwave design experience: chain analysis, circuit/system modeling, integration and test.
  • Proven verbal and written communication skills for cross‑functional collaboration.
  • U.S. citizenship required; ability to obtain government export/licensing approvals and security clearances as needed.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 10% of the time.

Nice-to-have:

  • Millimeter‑wave design experience.
  • Familiarity with RF design tools such as Microwave Office (MWO/VSS), Keysight ADS, or Genesys.
  • Experience with high‑speed data converters (ADC/DAC/transceiver).
  • Leadership experience mentoring engineers and directing complex programs.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in RF/Microwave engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field is required. The posting also specifies 7+ years of relevant experience. (No alternative degree-equivalence language was provided.)
