Staff Project/Program Design
Role Summary
Manage chip development projects for the Memory Interface Division (MID). Lead cross-functional, geographically dispersed teams from project kickoff through customer release, owning project plans, schedules, budgets, deliverables, risk mitigation, and stakeholder communication.
Experience Level
Senior — typically 5–7+ years of relevant semiconductor experience with 3–5+ years of hands-on technical program/project management and NPI involvement.
Responsibilities
Primary duties include program leadership, planning, execution, and continuous improvement of project delivery.
- Lead and manage assigned chip development projects end-to-end, coordinating cross-functional and geographically dispersed teams.
- Create and execute project plans, schedules, budgets, and deliverables.
- Own project status, risks, scope, cost entitlement, and manufacturability metrics; report to PMO and leadership.
- Forecast and manage project and program spending; support annual operation planning.
- Establish and enforce execution processes, disciplines, and improvement practices.
- Coordinate with sales, marketing, and demand creation on sample priorities and RFI/RFQ responses.
- Drive timely escalation and remediation of issues; form focused teams when required.
- Prepare and present project status at management decision reviews and cross-functional progress reviews.
Requirements
Must-have technical program management experience and execution discipline.
- Proven delivery of projects to schedule, budget, and quality with a first-time-right mentality.
- 5–7+ years of relevant semiconductor experience and 3–5+ years of hands-on technical program/project management leading development of mixed-signal or analog products.
- 3–5+ years experience in NPI functional teams (product, test, validation, design, quality, or related).
- In-depth knowledge of new product introduction and product development lifecycle; exposure to automotive process is a plus.
- Skilled with project management tools and methods: MS Project, Jira, SharePoint, FMEA, root cause analysis, Microsoft OneNote.
- Strong risk management, contingency planning, and stakeholder communication skills.
- Ability to build team discipline, remove execution roadblocks, and institutionalize lessons learned.
Education Requirements
Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Electronics Engineering preferred; Master’s or PhD in Electrical Engineering preferred. PMP certification listed as a plus. (Degrees in related electrical/electronics technical fields acceptable.)
