Staff Project Engineering Manager
Role Summary
Lead end-to-end delivery of high-speed SerDes PHY IP projects within the Mixed-Signal Semiconductor IP team. You will manage cross-functional engineering teams, align technical roadmaps with market requirements, and ensure on-time, on-spec tapeouts and customer deployments.
This is a senior technical program management role focused on semiconductor IP and ASIC development with global engineering stakeholders.

Responsibilities
Accountable for planning and executing complex IP delivery programs; work across teams to remove blockers and communicate status to leadership and customers.
- Manage end-to-end delivery of SerDes PHY IP from definition through tapeout and customer deployment.
- Lead cross-functional teams including design, verification, and layout to meet aggressive schedules.
- Partner with R&D and Marketing to define roadmaps, prioritize features, and align technical deliverables with market needs.
- Identify resource gaps, manage risks, and resolve cross-team dependencies proactively.
- Drive process improvements to reduce cycle time and improve quality across projects.
- Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and Customer Support on pre-sales technical engagements and post-sales issue resolution.
- Provide concise status updates to executive leadership and customers, translating technical progress into business outcomes.
Requirements
Must-have technical and leadership skills for delivering semiconductor IP projects. Education-level details are listed separately under Education Requirements.
- Deep technical knowledge of IC design, ASIC development flows, and semiconductor IP integration.
- Proven track record leading complex engineering projects in semiconductor IP or ASIC development.
- Strong risk management and change management skills; able to handle technical uncertainty and scope changes.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication; able to explain tradeoffs to executives and translate customer needs into engineering plans.
- Familiarity with project management methodologies and tools (Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid approaches tailored to hardware).
- Nice-to-have: hands-on experience with SerDes PHY IP, high-speed interface standards (PCIe, USB, Ethernet), mixed-signal design expertise, or prior involvement in pre-sales technical engagement.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field with 8+ years of relevant experience; or a Master's or PhD with 6+ years of relevant experience. Equivalent practical experience will be considered.
