Staff Product Testing Engineer
Role Summary
Interfaces with cross-functional teams across the product lifecycle to improve yield, reduce test costs, and ensure product quality and manufacturability. Supports production sustainment, product qualification, and tester platform activities within the Manufacturing organization in Shah Alam.
Experience Level
Senior-level; requires more than 7 years of experience in high-volume semiconductor manufacturing.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include production support, yield improvement, qualification, and system-level test activities:
- Review low-yield production lots; lead root-cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with test engineering, assembly, quality, internal factory teams and OSAT to resolve production issues.
- Execute sustaining activities (e.g., EQA hold rate reduction, SYL/SBL sustaining) to meet delivery commitments.
- Perform qualification and validation of new products and manage tester platform migrations.
- Drive gross margin improvement initiatives through yield and test-cost reductions.
- Support system integration and tester platform maintenance and upgrades.
Requirements
Must-have skills and experience; good-to-have items listed separately.
- More than 7 years' experience in high-volume semiconductor manufacturing in Test Product Engineering, Test Engineering, or Product Engineering.
- Strong knowledge of test methodology for analog, digital and power products; experience with failure analysis, reliability testing, and root-cause analysis.
- Proficiency with statistical and data analysis tools (for example JMP, Spotfire).
- Strong communication skills and the ability to interact at all levels.
- Strong project management skills.
- Nice-to-have: experience with module devices; Visual Basic or C++; familiarity with ATE tester platforms (Teradyne ETS364/Flex, Advantest).
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering or a related field.
