Job Title
Staff Product and Test Engineer, PMIC
Role Summary
Design and validate test solutions for power management IC (PMIC) products. Work on test interface hardware, test software, HW/SW integration, first-silicon debug, device characterization, and yield/test-time improvement across multiple projects.
Collaborate with design, foundry, manufacturing, reliability, and program teams to commercialize and support products through characterization, failure analysis, and production test optimization.
Experience Level
Senior-level. Experience guidance: varies by degree (see Education Requirements for degree-and-years combinations).
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include engineering, characterization, and production test support for PMICs and related ASICs.
- Design, debug and validate test interface hardware (load boards) and develop test software/programs.
- Integrate HW and SW for production and characterization flows; perform first-silicon bring-up and debug.
- Define and execute characterization plans, device characterization, and process experiments (DOE) including multi-source fab matching.
- Analyze test data, generate test limits/guard bands, and drive failure analysis to root cause and resolution.
- Implement test-time reduction and yield-improvement actions while maintaining product quality.
- Prepare product documentation and technical presentations for cross-functional stakeholders.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and practical experience; preferred items listed separately.
- Hands-on hardware engineering experience in test development, validation, or production test environments.
- Experience with PMIC measurement/characterization techniques (line/load regulation, PSRR, transition time, efficiency, jitter/phase noise, etc.).
- Proficiency with lab equipment: oscilloscopes, source meters, battery emulators, spectrum analyzers, etc.
- Strong software skills for test code development and debugging (examples: Python, VB, Perl).
- Data analysis experience and familiarity with statistical analysis tools and quality/reliability testing methodologies.
- Ability to drive failure analysis, yield variance control, and test productivity improvements across projects.
- Strong verbal and written communication; ability to document work and collaborate with local and remote teams.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with LabVIEW or ATE platforms such as Teradyne IFlex/UFlex or Advantest 93.
- Knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing and wafer fabrication fundamentals.
- ASIC device-level characterization experience and system-level understanding.
- Familiarity with Six Sigma / statistical process control techniques.
Education Requirements
Degree and experience combinations accepted: Bachelor's in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or related field with 4+ years of hardware engineering or related experience; OR Master's in the same fields with 3+ years of experience; OR PhD in the same fields with 2+ years of experience. Master's in Electrical Engineering is listed as preferred. The posting accepts equivalent practical experience tied to the stated years-of-experience requirements.
