Internship – Validation Engineering (Validation data management and connected life cycle automation)

Role Summary

Join the post-silicon validation team to implement and operate data management and connected lifecycle automation. You will deploy and extend an interface that enables bi-directional data exchange across platforms and integrate it into the validation automation framework.

The role is embedded in the Product Line In-Vehicle Networking (IVN) team and focuses on improving data flow, reporting, and automation to support validation activities.

Experience Level

Entry-level internship. Full-time (40 hours per week). Typical duration: 6 months or longer; may be suitable as a thesis/graduation project.

Responsibilities

Implement and integrate data exchange and automation components for the validation environment.

• Deploy and integrate the existing bi-directional interface into the validation automation framework.
• Enable logging, fetching, filtering and merging of validation data across systems for improved usability.
• Integrate platforms such as NI SystemLink with Spotfire (Exensio), Excel, and ETM.
• Develop a reporting framework to generate standard reports from data fetched from SystemLink.
• Develop scripts to push results back into ETM and other downstream systems.
• Work with cross-functional and international teams to validate and refine automation flows.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and capabilities for the internship.

• Strong understanding of data management concepts and software development practices (no degree text here — see Education Requirements).
• Proficiency in Python and experience with SQL.
• Experience with version control and data-management tools (e.g., Git, data repositories).
• Ability to develop scripts and basic reporting automation.
• Good English communication skills for meetings and documentation.
• Ability to work independently and propose practical improvements in automation flows.

Nice-to-have:

• Familiarity with NI SystemLink, Spotfire (Exensio), ETM, and Excel automation.
• Experience with REST APIs and integrating multiple platforms.
• Prior exposure to validation automation frameworks and reporting tools.

Education Requirements

Master's or Bachelor's of Science in an engineering or software development domain (candidate in last year of studies). Must be registered as a student for the entire internship period. The assignment may be suitable as a graduation/thesis project.
