Staff/Principal Package R&D Engineer

Role Summary

Join a European R&D team responsible for package architecture and the functionality and performance of semiconductor products. The role works within a multicultural global team, collaborating with internal development, production partners and external OSATs.

Primary duties include technical leadership for package design, first-level onsite technical support, small project leadership, and gathering customer and market requirements to propose innovative packaging solutions.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

• Serve as Package Architect with primary responsibility for functionality and performance of semiconductor products.
• Provide technical first-level onsite support and troubleshooting.
• Lead small technical projects and coordinate technical activities across teams.
• Support and technically interface with OSAT partners.
• Coordinate with the global package and assembly development community.
• Collect technical customer requirements, market trends and benchmarking data.
• Propose and develop innovative packaging solutions to meet product needs.
• Support business group functions by providing package expertise.

Master's degree or PhD in Semiconductor Packaging, Chemistry, Physics, Materials Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or a similar technical field.
