Job Title

Staff/Principal Layout Designer, AI-Optimized Memory

Role Summary

Drive DRAM layout activities for AI-optimized memory architectures, delivering analog, mixed-signal, and custom digital layouts. Work with architecture, design, and packaging teams to validate early concepts, identify optimizations, and demonstrate feasibility for high-performance AI memory.

Experience Level

Senior-level role. Preferred 10+ years of experience in analog and custom layout design with demonstrated expertise in DRAM block and full-chip layouts.

Responsibilities

Lead and execute layout work across analog, mixed-signal, and custom digital domains; support architecture exploration and full-chip integration.

  • Design and develop critical analog, mixed‑signal, and custom digital blocks.
  • Perform floorplanning, placement, routing, and exploratory layout for next‑generation architectures.
  • Integrate full‑chip designs and perform layout verification (LVS, DRC), quality checks, and documentation.
  • Collaborate with signal integrity, architecture, design, and packaging teams to ensure successful architecture exploration and optimized layouts.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and tools for the role.

  • Extensive hands‑on layout experience with critical DRAM blocks and full designs.
  • Experience with Cadence VLE/VXL and Mentor Graphics Calibre DRC/LVS.
  • Strong understanding of layout impacts on speed, capacitance, power, and area.
  • Solid analog layout fundamentals: matching, electromigration, latch‑up, coupling, crosstalk, IR‑drop, and parasitic effects.

Nice-to-have:

  • Proven layout ability with advanced CMOS processes (e.g., FinFET).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
