Job Title
Silicon Design Verification Engineer
Role Summary
Join Intel's Devices Development Group as a SoC design verification engineer focused on functional verification of integrated SoCs. You will work with architects, designers, and cross-functional teams to validate complex architectural features, improve product quality, and support pre-silicon and post-silicon validation efforts.
Experience Level
Senior β posting specifies Bachelor's degree with 7+ years of relevant experience or Master's degree with 5+ years of relevant experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include developing and executing verification plans across block, subsystem, and SoC levels, debugging issues, and maintaining verification infrastructure.
- Perform functional logic verification of integrated SoCs to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Define and develop scalable, reusable verification plans, testbenches, and environments at block, subsystem, and SoC levels.
- Execute verification plans using emulation and system simulation models to validate design, analyze power and performance, and uncover bugs.
- Replicate, root-cause, and debug issues in the pre-silicon environment and implement corrective actions.
- Document verification test plans and lead technical reviews with design and architecture teams.
- Maintain and optimize functional verification infrastructure and methodologies.
- Incorporate post-silicon learnings to update test plans and improve future products.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and relevant experience; preferred items listed separately.
- Proficiency in hardware verification languages and languages used in verification: SystemVerilog, Verilog, C, or C++.
- Experience with industry-standard emulation and debugging platforms (example: Zebu, Palladium).
- Strong knowledge of SoC fabrics, including cache coherency, graphics subsystems, and power management clusters.
- Experience with emulation model bring-up, developing verification components, and executing test plans for complex subsystems.
- Skilled at presilicon debug, replication of failures, and root-cause analysis.
- Ability to develop and maintain verification environments and reusable test infrastructure.
- Nice-to-have: familiarity with Design for Debug (DFD), D2D/UCIe, VPU/AI subsystems, and tool/methodology development to streamline IP and SoC integration.
- Nice-to-have: strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills for cross-functional work.
Education Requirements
Minimum: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field with 7+ years of relevant experience; OR Master's degree with 5+ years of relevant experience. Fields mentioned: Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical disciplines.
