Staff / Principal Engineer (Sign Off)

Role Summary

The role leads development of electrical signoff methodologies for Arm silicon demonstrators, focusing on timing, power integrity, electromigration and soft-error analysis for advanced-node SoCs. You will work within a cross-functional silicon team to architect, validate and release qualified signoff flows used across Arm's silicon projects.

Experience Level

Senior — typically 8–12 years of experience in physical implementation and signoff methodologies.

Responsibilities

Deliver and qualify signoff methodologies that balance accuracy and silicon yield; collaborate with internal silicon teams and EDA vendors to produce standardized flows.

• Develop and standardize Static Timing Analysis (STA) flows usable across Arm silicon groups.
• Design methodologies for static and dynamic IR-drop analysis and enable STA with back-annotated voltages.
• Lead SoC-level electromigration (EM) analysis, incorporating local thermal effects.
• Develop methodologies to assess and mitigate soft error rate impacts for infrastructure and automotive SoCs.
• Balance accuracy, runtime, and yield trade-offs in signoff flows for advanced process nodes.
• Validate and release qualified flows for use by multiple silicon teams.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience.

• Proven experience developing signoff methodologies (Aging, STA, EM, IR) for advanced process nodes.
• Experience collaborating across silicon engineering teams and with EDA vendors.
• 8–12 years' experience in Physical Implementation and signoff methodology development.
• Hands-on methodology work on 5nm or 3nm technologies.
• Strong data analysis skills to extract data, perform analysis, and provide actionable insights.

Nice-to-have:

• Coding skills in Python, R, or equivalent for automation and data analysis.
• Strong presentation and communication skills.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering preferred.
