Staff/Principal Engineer, ASIC Verification
Role Summary
Micron Technology is hiring a senior verification engineer for the ASIC Verification and Emulation group. The role focuses on developing verification environments, testbenches, and coverage strategies for complex IP, sub-systems, and SoCs.
The engineer will work across architecture, firmware, and design teams to ensure thorough verification, timely delivery, and resolution of critical issues.
Experience Level
Senior-level. The posting specifies approximately 6–12 years of verification experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include building verification infrastructure, defining verification strategies, and collaborating across teams to close design issues.
- Define, develop, debug, and enhance verification environments, methodologies, and flows.
- Implement testbenches, verification plans, test plans, and coverage definitions for IPs, sub-systems, and SoCs.
- Perform RTL debugging, triage failures, and drive root-cause analysis with design and firmware teams.
- Track and report verification progress and coverage metrics to stakeholders.
- Collaborate with architecture and design teams to resolve critical functional issues prior to tape-out.
Requirements
Key technical skills and experience expected for successful candidates.
- Must-have: 6–12 years of ASIC verification experience with hands-on RTL debugging, scoreboarding, and code coverage analysis.
- Must-have: Proficient in SystemVerilog and UVM-based verification methodologies.
- Must-have: Proven experience writing and tracking detailed test plans and coverage definitions across multiple levels.
- Must-have: Hands-on experience with at least one of these interfaces: DDR, PCIe/NVMe, or NAND.
- Nice-to-have: Familiarity with C and with emulation platforms; exposure to generative AI tools for verification workflows.
Education Requirements
B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related technical field is listed; equivalent practical industry experience is acceptable.
