Staff Power Architect – System Design
RenesasJob Title
Staff Power Architect – System Design
Role Summary
The Staff Power Architect leads architecture definition, modeling, and technical direction for PMIC and advanced DC/DC converter products from concept through silicon validation. The role partners with analog, digital, verification, validation, test, and product teams to ensure architecture intent is implemented and verified across multiple programs.
Renesas develops embedded semiconductor solutions for Automotive, Industrial, Infrastructure, and IoT markets.
Experience Level
Senior. Specific years of experience not stated.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities focus on architecture ownership, modeling, cross-functional leadership, and documentation.
- Define and own system architectures for PMICs and advanced power converter products across multiple programs.
- Drive architecture trade-offs; define operating modes, startup/shutdown sequencing, and system boundary conditions.
- Lead architecture reviews and provide hands-on guidance during the design phase to ensure correct execution.
- Develop and maintain low-level and system-level models (e.g., Simplis) to support decisions and reduce silicon risk.
- Analyze stability, transient response, fault behavior, and corner cases to validate architecture choices.
- Collaborate with analog, digital, verification, validation, test, and applications teams during design, validation, and debug.
- Create and maintain architecture documentation, sub-block specifications, design guidelines, and lessons-learned records.
- Support silicon bring-up, system-level debug, and root-cause analysis as needed.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience follow. Nice-to-have items are listed separately.
- Must-have: Strong experience with PMICs, DC/DC converters, or mixed-signal power systems.
- Proven experience in architecture definition and architectural analysis for power-management products.
- Experience with modeling tools such as Simplis and familiarity with Simulink.
- Ability to work across disciplines, influence technical decisions, and provide technical leadership.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical documentation and reviews.
- Experience involved in silicon validation and system-level debug.
- Nice-to-have: Experience with advanced power converter programs, Multi-Level Converter (MLC) topologies, multi-rail power systems, and power sequencing.
Education Requirements
Not specified.
