Staff Post-Silicon Validation Engineer

Role Summary

Join Arm's Chandler Post-Silicon Validation team to validate and characterize system-level behavior of Arm SoC processors. The role develops and runs stress workloads, implements test plans, debugs silicon and system issues, and produces characterization data used to support product ramps and customer adoption.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include developing system-level tests and workloads, debugging system and silicon faults, and collaborating across validation teams.

  • Develop and enable system-level stress workloads on Linux and bare-metal environments.
  • Create and execute test plans to characterize silicon at the system level.
  • Debug and resolve system and silicon issues using scopes, logic analyzers, debuggers, and advanced debug techniques.
  • Collaborate with post-silicon and pre-silicon teams to leverage test content and correlate results.

Requirements

Key required skills and experience.

  • Experience in pre-silicon and post-silicon validation.
  • Proficient in software engineering: C/C++, ARM assembly, Python, and scripting languages.
  • Understanding of silicon process technology related to power and performance.
  • Practical debugging skills with scopes, logic analyzers, debuggers, and other advanced debug tools.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and time-management skills.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with process, voltage, and temperature validation.
  • Experience with PCIe, CLX, UCIe, and DDR interfaces.
  • Experience correlating system-level tests with manufacturing tests and performing root-cause analysis of silicon issues.

Education Requirements

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience. Equivalent experience accepted in lieu of degree.
