Job Title
Staff Post-Silicon Electrical Validation Engineer
Role Summary
Lead post-silicon electrical validation and characterization for high-speed memory devices, focusing on bench-level debug, signal integrity, and performance optimization.
Collaborate with Validation and Design teams to define experiments, analyze results, and deliver reproducible test methodologies and clear technical reports.
Experience Level
Senior level — requires 8+ years of hands-on experience in high-speed analog and mixed-signal device validation.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include bench validation, data analysis, and technical communication across global teams.
- Design and execute post-silicon bench tests to characterize electrical and timing parameters for high-speed memory interfaces.
- Apply high-impedance probing, de-embedding, noise compensation, and other signal-integrity techniques to isolate issues.
- Debug and optimize device performance in collaboration with designers and cross-functional partners.
- Analyze experimental data, define follow-up experiments, and produce structured reports for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Develop reproducible test methodologies, procedures, and documentation to scale validation efforts.
- Investigate and validate applications of LLM/AI techniques to analyze large validation datasets and accelerate reporting.
- Coordinate with distributed validation engineers to align approaches and share knowledge across locations.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience; preferred items are noted.
- 8+ years of hands-on experience with high-speed analog and mixed-signal device validation.
- Strong understanding of signaling levels, termination architectures, and signal-integrity tradeoffs.
- Expertise with high-speed test equipment such as BERT, high-speed oscilloscopes, and compliance software.
- Proficiency in scripting (Python) for test automation and data analysis.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with advanced signal-integrity measurements and design correlation.
- Familiarity with memory interface architectures, protocols, and standards, preferably DDR5.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field. Master's in Electrical Engineering is listed as preferred. No mention of specific certifications or explicit equivalent-experience language.
