Job Title

Staff Per Diem Technical Trainer - Signal Integrity & Power Integrity (SI/PI)

Role Summary

Design and deliver technical training on signal integrity and power distribution networks for internal engineering teams. The role translates electromagnetic theory into practical high-speed PCB, package, and hardware design practices and raises team proficiency with 3D EM simulation and EDA workflows.

Experience Level

Senior - requires 7+ years of hands-on industry experience in Signal Integrity or high-speed hardware design.

Responsibilities

Develop and deliver training curriculum and support engineers through practical exercises and simulations.

  • Design foundational, intermediate, and advanced SI/PI training modules and course materials.
  • Create hands-on exercises and lead discussions on time-domain and frequency-domain analysis, crosstalk, jitter, S-parameters, and PDN impedance targets.
  • Teach 3D electromagnetic simulation workflows and guide engineers using industry-standard EDA tools.
  • Advise on PCB stackup optimization, PDN design, and high-speed package and board design best practices.
  • Assess training effectiveness and iterate curriculum to meet engineering team needs.
  • Collaborate with hardware, PCB, and package design teams to align training with real project requirements.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and conditions for the role.

  • 7+ years of industry experience specializing in signal integrity or high-speed hardware design.
  • Practical experience with 3D electromagnetic simulation and PDN analysis.
  • Experience with PCB stackup optimization and high-speed interface design.
  • Experience developing instructional materials and mentoring or training engineers.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard EDA tools used for SI/PI workflows.
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. government security clearance if selected.
  • Part-time availability and ability to support on-site work in Cambridge, MA as required.
