Staff PCIe Verification Engineer
ArmJob Title
Staff PCIe Verification Engineer
Role Summary
Lead verification efforts for PCIe IP and associated subsystems within a verification team. Collaborate with architects, RTL designers, and SoC integrators to define and execute verification strategy, close coverage, and resolve silicon issues.
This is a hands-on senior engineering role focused on system-level and protocol verification in a hybrid, cross-functional environment.
Experience Level
Senior (Staff level). Typical experience: 7+ years in digital/SoC verification or equivalent industry experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Define and drive verification strategy and plans for PCIe IP and related blocks.
- Develop and maintain UVM/SystemVerilog testbench infrastructure and verification environments.
- Create directed and constrained-random tests, assertions, and coverage models to validate protocol and corner cases.
- Debug functional failures across simulation, emulation, and silicon bring-up; triage with RTL designers.
- Automate regression flows and integrate with CI systems and verification tools.
- Mentor junior engineers and coordinate verification efforts across teams and partners.
Requirements
Must-have and desirable skills:
- Must-have: Extensive experience with PCIe protocol verification, UVM, and SystemVerilog.
- Must-have: Strong debugging skills across simulation and lab bring-up; familiarity with trace and waveform analysis.
- Must-have: Experience writing assertions, functional coverage, and constrained-random tests.
- Must-have: Proficiency with verification tooling and flows (simulators, emulators, coverage tools) and scripting (Python, Tcl, or shell).
- Nice-to-have: Experience with emulation, FPGA prototyping, formal verification tools, or SoC-level integration.
- Nice-to-have: Knowledge of firmware/software interaction or performance validation for PCIe systems.
