Staff Mixed-Signal SOC Engineer – Infrastructure Power
Role Summary
As a Staff Mixed-Signal SoC Engineer on the Infrastructure Power team in Austin, you will own design, verification, test, and validation of power management ICs from product definition through volume production and sustaining support. You will lead cross-functional engineering efforts with firmware, test, product, and customer teams to deliver robust power-management solutions for high-performance computing platforms.
Renesas focuses on AI-focused power-delivery products including high-performance digital VRMs, multiphase controllers, Smart Power Stages, and power modules.
Experience Level
Senior — 7+ years of experience in mixed-signal SoC products with tapeout-to-production experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include full lifecycle ownership of assigned subsystems and cross-functional technical leadership.
- Lead design, verification, test, and validation of assigned power management subsystems through production and sustaining support.
- Drive cross-functional collaboration with firmware, test, product, and customer engineering to define requirements and technical decisions.
- Perform root-cause analysis on customer returns and field issues and implement corrective actions.
- Contribute to system-level architecture and participate in design reviews across disciplines.
- Mentor junior engineers and support technical growth across the team.
- Drive continuous improvement in design methodologies, verification strategies, and validation approaches.
Requirements
Must-have skills and experience:
- 7+ years working on mixed-signal SoC products with proven tapeout-to-production delivery.
- Deep expertise in at least one core discipline: analog & mixed-signal design, RTL & digital design, design verification, or system-level architecture.
- Experience with automated bench testing, silicon/system validation, and behavioral modeling of analog and mixed-signal circuits.
- Ability to understand and reason about complex systems, including feedback loops and multi-domain dependencies.
- Experience using tracking systems for development milestones, tasks, and bug resolution.
- Proven experience collaborating with customers, applications, test, and product engineers throughout the product lifecycle.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with power conversion design (compensation, feedback networks) and power-stage modules.
- Firmware, telemetry, or algorithm development experience related to power management.
- Experience with formal methods or advanced DV methodology.
Education Requirements
M.S. in Electrical Engineering (MSEE) or equivalent; equivalent practical experience accepted.
