Staff Mixed Signal IC Designer
Role Summary
Senior analog/mixed-signal IC designer responsible for defining architecture and delivering low-power transistor-level designs for high-performance consumer audio products. Member of the PES Audio team contributing to system-level trade-offs, circuit design, verification, and production readiness.
This role includes technical leadership and mentorship within a multi-site engineering organization.
Experience Level
Senior level. The posting specifies 5+ years of progressive experience in analog and mixed-signal circuit architecture and design.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead definition of analog and mixed-signal architecture and system-level trade-offs.
- Execute designs from behavioral/abstract levels down to transistor-level implementation.
- Provide guidance for layout implementation, bench evaluation, and production test to ensure successful delivery.
- Actively participate in bench evaluation and collaborate with evaluation and test teams.
- Communicate design choices, performance trade-offs, and development progress across teams.
- Mentor and provide technical leadership to junior engineers.
- Travel as required for the role (approximately 10% of the time).
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience:
- Hands-on experience with low-power analog designs at the transistor level.
- Proficiency with Spectre or equivalent circuit simulation tools and behavioral/system-level modeling tools.
- Good understanding of semiconductor device physics.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to collaborate effectively across multi-site, cross-functional teams.
Nice-to-have / preferred:
- Understanding of signal processing, data converters, and DSP.
- Experience with power-design techniques.
- Prior experience in audio IC design and a demonstrated passion for audio products.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering or Computer Engineering is specified, along with 5+ years of progressive experience in architecting and designing analog and mixed-signal circuits.
