Job Title

Staff Mixed-Signal Design Engineer

Role Summary

Senior mixed-signal designer on the Advanced Cores Group developing high-speed data converters and related analog IP. The role focuses on transistor-level circuit design, system trade-offs, and cross-functional collaboration with layout, evaluation, and test teams.

Experience Level

Senior β€” typically 7+ years of CMOS design experience is expected.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include designing circuit blocks, validating performance, and coordinating with other engineering functions.

  • Collaborate with other designers to implement block-level circuits within defined architectures.
  • Evaluate system-level impacts of block parameters and perform trade-offs to meet specifications.
  • Design transistor-level circuits for wideband amplifiers, comparators, switched-capacitor circuits, precision voltage/current references, and LDOs.
  • Prepare clear design documentation and lead technical design reviews.
  • Guide layout, evaluation, and test engineering teams through handoff and characterization.
  • Support behavioral modeling and calibration efforts as required.

Requirements

Key skills and experience required or strongly preferred.

  • Must-have: 7+ years' experience in CMOS analog/mixed-signal design.
  • Must-have: Strong understanding of amplifiers, comparators, switched-capacitor circuits, precision references, and LDOs.
  • Must-have: Experience with Cadence schematic capture and SPICE simulation tools.
  • Must-have: Strong written and verbal communication; ability to work effectively on geographically distributed teams.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience with high-speed data converters or SerDes PHY design.
  • Nice-to-have: Signal processing knowledge related to calibration algorithms and experience using MATLAB for behavioral modeling.

Education Requirements

M.S. or beyond in Electrical Engineering (master's degree required by posting; Ph.D. acceptable).
