Job Title

Staff Mixed-Signal Design Engineer

Role Summary

Senior IC design engineer responsible for transistor-level and block-level analog/mixed-signal circuit design for advanced data converters and related cores. The role works within the Advanced Cores Group to implement and optimize circuit blocks, collaborate across disciplines, and drive designs from specification through evaluation.

Experience Level

Senior β€” expects 7+ years of relevant CMOS design experience.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Collaborate with other designers to implement and integrate key circuit blocks within a defined architecture.
  • Analyze system-level impacts of block parameters and make trade-offs to meet specifications.
  • Design challenging transistor-level circuits (amplifiers, comparators, switched-capacitor circuits, references, LDOs).
  • Prepare design documentation and present work in design reviews.
  • Guide layout, evaluation, and test engineering teams through implementation and characterization.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience:

  • 7+ years of CMOS design experience focused on analog/mixed-signal circuits.
  • Strong understanding of wide-bandwidth amplifiers, comparators, switched-capacitor circuits, precision voltage/current references, and LDOs.
  • Experience with Cadence schematic capture and SPICE simulation tools.
  • Experience using MATLAB for behavioral modeling.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills and ability to work in a large, geographically distributed team.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience in high-speed data converter or SerDes PHY design.
  • Signal-processing knowledge related to calibration algorithms.

Education Requirements

Requires an M.S. or higher in Electrical Engineering (M.S. or beyond in Electrical Engineering is specified).
