Job Title

Staff Mixed-Signal Design Engineer

Role Summary

Design transistor-level mixed-signal and analog circuit blocks for high-speed data converters and related IP within ADI’s Advanced Cores Group. Work with cross-functional teams to bring designs from specification through layout, characterization, and test.

Hybrid role based in Wilmington, MA with collaboration across sites; focused on delivering high-performance analog/mixed-signal IP for industrial, automotive, communications, and instrumentation applications.

Experience Level

Senior — Staff level. Posting specifies 5+ years of CMOS design experience.

Responsibilities

Primary duties include circuit design, system trade-offs, and technical leadership within a multi-disciplinary team.

  • Implement transistor-level circuit blocks within defined architectures.
  • Assess system-level impacts of block parameters and make trade-offs.
  • Design and optimize wide-bandwidth amplifiers, comparators, switched-capacitor circuits, precision voltage/current references, LDOs, and similar blocks.
  • Prepare design documentation and lead design reviews.
  • Coordinate with layout, evaluation, and test engineering teams during bring-up and characterization.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience; nice-to-have items listed separately.

  • 5+ years of CMOS design experience.
  • Strong understanding of analog/mixed-signal circuits: wide-bandwidth amplifiers, comparators, switched-capacitor circuits, precision references, LDOs.
  • Proficient with Cadence schematic capture and SPICE simulation tools.
  • Experience using MATLAB for behavioral modeling or algorithm development.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills; ability to work effectively on geographically distributed teams.
  • Nice-to-have: experience with high-speed data converters, SerDes PHY design, and signal-processing knowledge related to calibration algorithms.

Education Requirements

M.S. or higher in Electrical Engineering (Master's or beyond) was specified. No alternate degree fields or "equivalent experience" language was provided in the posting.
