Role Summary

Join Broadcom's Central Engineering Group to develop foundation IP for AI products, including memory compilers, logic cells, and custom macros on advanced process nodes. The role focuses on transistor- and gate-level memory and circuit block design, simulation, layout integration, and characterization.

Responsibilities

The engineer will design, verify, and integrate memory and circuit blocks across design, simulation, layout, characterization, and silicon correlation phases.

• Design memory and circuit blocks at gate and transistor level.
• Perform transistor-level and post-layout simulations and analysis.
• Extract layouts and run post-layout verification, timing, and power analysis.
• Floorplan, implement physically, and integrate layout components.
• Integrate and automate characterization flows to extract timing and power metrics.
• Specify and verify behavioral and physical memory models.
• Document design specifications, behavioral descriptions, and timing diagrams.
• Help define silicon test plans and correlate silicon measurements to simulation data.
• Develop scripts to automate simulations, verification, and characterization flows.

Requirements

Must-have technical capabilities and practical skills; preferred skills noted separately.

• Experience with transistor- and gate-level circuit design and simulation.
• Experience with layout extraction, post-layout simulation, and verification flows.
• Ability to develop automation scripts for simulation, characterization, and verification.
• Familiarity with memory behavioral and physical models and characterization processes.
• Practical knowledge of timing and power analysis and floorplanning for integration.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills; ability to lead technical tasks and collaborate cross-functionally.
• Preferred: understanding of device physics, signal integrity, EM/IR, and reliability analysis.
• Preferred: experience with memory circuit design, DFT schemes, and chip-level integration.
• Preferred: motivated, self-driven, and effective at multitasking.
