Job Title

Staff Machine Learning Engineer – Automotive Cybersecurity

Role Summary

Senior ML engineer responsible for designing and delivering AI/ML automation for automotive SoC cybersecurity and functional safety workflows. The role develops scalable ML systems, LLM/GenAI solutions, and engineering automation spanning requirements, verification, compliance, and documentation.

Works across cybersecurity, safety, systems, software, design, and verification teams to increase engineering productivity and enable automated compliance and security analysis.

Experience Level

Senior-level. Preferred experience: 5+ years in machine learning, AI, or applied intelligent systems; minimum experience varies by degree (see Education Requirements for degree-dependent minimums).

Responsibilities

Design, build, and deploy AI/ML systems that automate engineering and cybersecurity workflows.

  • Design and implement ML/AI-based automation for cybersecurity and functional safety engineering processes.
  • Develop solutions for document understanding, review automation, and engineering productivity tools.
  • Integrate and deploy LLMs, GenAI, and agentic AI frameworks within engineering pipelines.
  • Create scalable end-to-end ML pipelines and inference systems for production or engineering environments.
  • Implement knowledge automation, semantic search, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) for decision support and cross-project reuse.
  • Apply ML to security analysis, compliance monitoring, and process optimization.
  • Support hardware security analysis, verification automation, and AI-assisted design workflows.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate technical findings to leadership and stakeholders.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience; preferred items listed separately.

  • Strong background in machine learning and artificial intelligence with production or engineering deployments.
  • Experience with large language models (LLMs), generative AI, and agentic/multi-agent AI frameworks.
  • Proficient programming skills in Python, C++, or equivalent; solid software engineering practices.
  • Experience building scalable ML pipelines, model training workflows, and inference systems.
  • Familiarity with knowledge systems, semantic search, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), or workflow orchestration.
  • Ability to design and deliver end-to-end automation across multiple engineering domains.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and ability to work autonomously on complex technical problems.
  • Nice-to-have: exposure to hardware security, RTL design, design verification, silicon validation, or automotive cybersecurity/functional safety standards.

Education Requirements

Minimum qualifications specify a degree plus experience: Bachelor's in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field (with 4+ years relevant experience); OR Master's in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field (with 3+ years); OR PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field (with 2+ years). Preferred: Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, AI, Machine Learning, or related technical field.
