Staff Linux Support Engineer

Role Summary

Provide hands-on technical support and troubleshooting across embedded Linux stacks (firmware, kernel, device drivers, and applications) to internal and external partners. Work within a small central engineering support team to enable successful deployment of Arm architecture into software ecosystems and accelerate adoption for AI-focused hardware.

Responsibilities

Primary duties include case ownership, hands-on debugging, and cross-team collaboration to stabilise products and enable partners.

  • Manage and drive technical support cases to resolution, ensuring timely, high-quality outcomes.
  • Perform hands-on debugging across complex embedded Linux stacks: firmware, kernel, drivers, and applications.
  • Collaborate with internal engineering and central support teams to improve partner enablement and product stability.
  • Contribute to documentation, FAQs, and knowledge bases to increase self-service and long-term efficiency.
  • Support early deployment of new Arm hardware and software, assisting partners with onboarding.

Requirements

Must-have skills and experience:

  • Strong understanding of embedded Linux software stacks, including kernel, drivers, and firmware integration.
  • Experience triaging, debugging, mitigating, and resolving software issues using C, C++, and/or assembly.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills; able to collaborate across teams and with external partners.

Nice-to-have:

  • Familiarity with Arm A- and M-class architectures.
  • Experience supporting or developing products for embedded or AI-focused hardware platforms.
  • Background in small silicon, embedded, or startup-style environments.
