Staff Layout Design Engineer
Role Summary
Responsible for analog IC layout from block-level through full-chip for products such as DC-DC converters, controllers and drivers. The role owns floorplanning, leaf-cell and matched analog layout while ensuring manufacturability and reliability.
Work on a worldwide layout team and collaborate with design, packaging and test groups to deliver production-ready IP on schedule.
Experience Level
Senior - 6+ years of professional experience in analog layout design.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include independent delivery of high-quality analog layouts and cross-team collaboration.
- Floorplan and implement analog blocks and full-chip layouts (charge pumps, comparators, amplifiers, bandgaps, linear regulators, etc.).
- Take ownership of layout tasks, schedules and delivery with minimal supervision.
- Apply analog layout matching techniques and design for EM and reliability.
- Collaborate with global layout and design teams to minimize rework and ensure IP portability.
- Follow methodology and verification flows to meet DRC/LVS and tape-out requirements.

Key technical requirements and preferred skills.
- Must-have: 6+ years in analog layout design with demonstrated experience in DRC/LVS flows and packaging considerations.
- Must-have: Deep knowledge of floorplanning, leaf cell layout, matching techniques, and design-for-reliability/EM.
- Must-have: Proficiency with industry CAD tools and flows such as Virtuoso XL and Calibre (DRC, LVS, PEX).
- Nice-to-have: Understanding of IC processing (BCD nodes), packaging and production test.
- Nice-to-have: Scripting skills (Python, Perl, TCL) and familiarity with verification tools such as PVS or R3D.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering.
