Staff IC Layout Engineer
Role Summary
Design and implement IC layouts for RF, analogue and microwave integrated circuits targeting mobile communications. The role is part of the IC layout team working on CMOS and SOI designs, responsible for floorplanning, block and top-level layout, verification, and tape-out coordination.
Experience Level
Senior β 8+ years of relevant experience.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include detailed layout work, verification, and coordination through tape-out.
- Floor planning and concept realization for highly integrated RF circuits.
- Top-level and block-level layout, including LVS and DRC verification.
- Full RF and analogue layout design and layout size optimization for CMOS and SOI processes.
- Design and layout of laminate layers; interface silicon with package.
- Coordinate with RF IC design engineers, foundry, and manufacturing for tape-out.
- Prepare and maintain tape-out data, documentation, and data archiving.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience.
- 8+ years of relevant IC layout experience.
- Proven experience with integrated RF circuit layouts and RF/microwave engineering.
- Familiarity with semiconductor process technologies such as CMOS and SOI.
- Experience using Cadence layout/CAD tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work independently and interface across functions.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, or an equivalent amount of advanced education and experience.
