Staff HBM Design Architect

Role Summary

The HBM Architecture team designs advanced high-bandwidth memory (HBM) solutions for AI, ML, and high-performance computing. This role contributes to design and analysis of digital and analog DRAM circuits, evaluates functionality and performance, and supports architectural feasibility for future HBM products.

Experience Level

Senior-level — requires 3+ years of relevant engineering experience.

Responsibilities

Typical responsibilities include:

• Design and analyze digital and analog DRAM circuits, including simulation, optimization, and floorplanning.
• Evaluate full‑chip or block‑level functionality and develop fixes to ensure functional correctness.
• Analyze timing, power, area, and complexity trade‑offs for high‑speed DRAM and mixed‑signal designs.
• Perform architectural pathfinding and feasibility analysis for future HBM products.
• Contribute to the design and optimization of memory, logic, and analog circuits.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience:

• 3+ years of relevant engineering experience in semiconductor circuit design.
• Strong knowledge of CMOS circuit design and semiconductor device physics.
• Experience with schematic entry and circuit simulation tools such as FineSim and/or HSPICE.
• Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills.

Preferred (nice-to-have):

• Experience with advanced DRAM architectures (e.g., 3D DRAM) and high‑speed clocking, interfaces, or power delivery optimization.
• Experience in mixed‑signal or custom circuit design.
• Strong communication skills and experience collaborating across design and verification teams.

Education Requirements

Minimum: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. Preferred: Master's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or related field. No certifications specified.
