Job Title

Staff GenAI Engineer - AMS Design and Optimization

Role Summary

Develop and deploy AI and automation solutions to improve analog/mixed-signal (AMS) circuit design, layout, verification, and tape-out efficiency. Join a team working at the intersection of circuit design, CAD, and data to scale AI-enabled workflows across memory products.

Experience Level

Senior (Staff). Micron lists 5–7 years of relevant experience in circuit design, layout, verification, or CAD flows.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities focus on embedding AI into physical-design and verification flows and using data to reduce iteration and improve predictive quality.

  • Integrate AI and automation into circuit design, layout, verification, and CAD workflows.
  • Develop data-driven models for validation and to reduce tape-out iterations.
  • Enable AI-assisted optimization for floorplanning, placement, routing, and simulation.
  • Leverage historical design and silicon data to generate predictive insights and drive decisions.
  • Collaborate with design, layout, CAD, manufacturing, and product teams to scale solutions.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience (degree requirements are summarized under Education Requirements).

  • 5–7 years experience with circuit design, layout, verification, or CAD flows.
  • Strong software development skills to produce and maintain production-quality tools (Python or similar).
  • Experience applying data analysis, machine learning, or automation to engineering workflows.

Preferred:

  • Experience applying AI/ML to physical design, simulation, or silicon data.
  • Knowledge of memory circuit design and full-chip integration.
  • Experience collaborating across design, process integration, test, or product engineering.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience is required; Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field is preferred. Equivalent practical experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree.
