Design, implement, verify, and bring up FPGA-based communication modules for UAV avionics. Work with hardware, firmware, and software teams to integrate FPGA subsystems into the overall system, with emphasis on low latency and high reliability.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include:

• Architect, design, and implement FPGA logic for UAV communication and avionics subsystems.
• Perform synthesis, timing closure, and bitstream generation; drive timing and area optimization.
• Execute hardware bring-up, on-target debugging, and validate interfaces to PCBs and peripherals.
• Optimize designs for latency, determinism, and reliability in flight conditions.
• Integrate FPGA modules with firmware and software; perform system-level verification and troubleshooting.
• Lead and participate in design reviews and maintain clear technical documentation and test plans.

Requirements

Must-have:

• Proven experience designing and delivering FPGA-based communication modules for real-time or embedded systems.
• Hands-on experience with synthesis, timing closure, bitstream generation, and hardware bring-up.
• Demonstrated ability to optimize FPGA designs for low latency and high reliability.
• Experience integrating FPGA designs with firmware and software and performing system-level debugging.
• Strong communication skills for design reviews and technical documentation.

Nice-to-have:

• Experience with UAV avionics or other safety-critical embedded systems.
• Familiarity with major FPGA toolchains and families (e.g., Xilinx/AMD, Intel/Altera).
• Experience with high-speed serial interfaces, SERDES, and common communication protocols.
