Job Title
Staff Foundry Engineer
Role Summary
Join the Foundry Engineering team to support process bring-up, NPI (New Product Introduction) and production ramp for silicon products. You will act as the technical interface between foundries, operations, design and CAD teams to ensure technology files, models, and manufacturing plans enable first-time silicon success.
Experience Level
Senior β minimum 3 years of relevant industry experience as stated in the posting.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities focus on bringing new process technologies into production and ensuring product yield and manufacturability:
- Support new process bring-up through technology assessment, testchip design and electrical characterization.
- Drive NPI activities: resolve design obstacles, execute tapeout and wafer plans, and support prototype qualification and production launch.
- Coordinate between foundry suppliers, operations and design teams to resolve logistical and technical issues.
- Analyze manufacturing data, investigate yield and reliability issues, and implement corrective actions.
- Contribute to process documentation, technology files, and qualification reports to support ramp to production.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience:
- Solid understanding of semiconductor device physics and intrinsic reliability mechanisms (HCI, BTI, etc.).
- Familiarity with GDS tape-out, mask-making flows, and wafer fab process integration.
- Experience with layout design tools, wafer-level probing systems, characterization methodology, and failure analysis techniques.
- Proficiency with data analysis methods and statistical reasoning applied to yield and qualification data.
- Knowledge of IC chip development flow, design rule methodology, and basic analog/digital circuit concepts.
- Good communication skills and ability to support multiple time-zone teams and concurrent tasks.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience in advanced-node fabrication processes.
- Experience with advanced embedded non-volatile memory (eNVM) evaluation and characterization.
Education Requirements
Master's or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Materials Science or a related technical field is specified. The posting also indicates a minimum of approximately 3 years of relevant industry experience.
