Staff Firmware Engineer, PSC

Role Summary

Support platform bring-up, OpenBMC firmware customization, system-level debugging and manufacturing test support for server/BMC platforms at the TW Taipei Wugu site. Responsible for firmware design, debug, test support, and cross-functional issue resolution through to production.

Experience Level

Senior — 8+ years of experience in Linux-based firmware development, debugging, and testing.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include firmware customization, system-level debug, test support, and project ownership.

• Customize OpenBMC firmware to meet customer requirements.
• Platform bring-up and system-level debugging; perform root-cause analysis for firmware issues.
• Develop and test firmware and device drivers for peripheral and connectivity buses.
• Provide support for manufacturing testing activities and production debugging.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to analyze and resolve issues.
• Own software-related project tasks from kickoff through end of manufacturing.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience:

• 8+ years' experience debugging, developing, and testing in a Linux environment.
• Strong software implementation and design experience.
• Experience developing device drivers for I2C, SPI, PMBus, CANbus, or similar buses.
• Ability to independently research and work with new technologies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in Mandarin and English.
• Ability to work effectively in a multi-task, cross-functional team.

Preferred:

• OpenBMC domain expertise or firmware development on ASPEED SoC.
• Familiarity with DMTF standards such as Redfish, PLDM, and SPDM.
• Experience with Linux kernel and U-Boot customization for platform bring-up.
• Willingness and ability to travel or be dispatched overseas.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science.
