Work with design, embedded software, applications, and product teams to close silicon issues, drive automation, and mentor junior engineers to improve team validation capabilities.
Experience Level
Senior β guidance from the role: 8β12 years of relevant experience.
Responsibilities
Accountable for validating silicon and ensuring product readiness from first silicon through characterization and handoff.
- Own first-silicon bring-up, block- and system-level debug, and issue resolution.
- Define, plan, and execute validation and characterization strategies to verify performance, power, and reliability targets.
- Develop and deploy automation for validation and characterization; maintain test frameworks.
- Collaborate with embedded software teams to validate system-level interactions and debug cross-domain issues.
- Coordinate with design, applications, and product teams to prioritize and resolve silicon issues affecting customer quality and product readiness.
- Coach and mentor junior engineers on debugging strategy, system thinking, and validation methodology.
- Drive conclusions from evaluation data to influence product and design decisions.
Requirements
Must-have skills and experience for immediate contribution.
- 8β12 years of hands-on experience in pre- and post-silicon validation and characterization of mixed-signal devices.
- Proven experience deploying automation frameworks using Python and/or LabVIEW.
- Experience validating analog or RF blocks (ADC, DAC, amplifiers, buck converters, Bluetooth, or similar).
- Working knowledge of embedded systems programming and proficiency with digital interfaces such as SPI, I2C, and USB.
- Strong debugging and root-cause analysis skills across mixed-signal hardware and firmware interactions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to document findings and present evaluation results.
