Senior-level. The posting specifies 5+ years of relevant validation experience.
Responsibilities
Primary duties focus on system-level qualification, test automation, and customer joint qualification (JQ).
- Lead system-level validation and qualification, performing end-to-end testing across SSDs, firmware, drivers, OS, networking, and platform configurations.
- Develop and execute validation test plans from development through completion, including failure analysis and reporting aligned with customer JQ requirements.
- Perform hands-on system bring-up, debug, OS installation, driver validation, and storage-stack verification.
- Reproduce and triage customer and field issues; convert findings into internal test cases to improve validation coverage.
- Design and improve automated test frameworks and Python-based tools; drive shift-left validation and testability improvements.
- Leverage AI-assisted tools and data-driven methods to accelerate failure analysis and continuous improvement of qualification workflows.
- Mentor engineering team members and promote consistent qualification outcomes across internal and customer platforms.
Requirements
Key must-have skills and experience, followed by preferred (nice-to-have) items.
- Must-have: 5+ years of SSD, storage, or semiconductor validation experience with deep knowledge of NVMe and PCIe protocols.
- Must-have: Hands-on expertise with Linux environments, system setup, OS bring-up, drive triage, and root-cause analysis of complex issues.
- Must-have: Proven background in Enterprise/Datacenter SSD firmware validation and system-level joint qualification.
- Must-have: Proficiency in Python for automation and data analysis; strong written and verbal communication skills for internal and external stakeholders.
- Nice-to-have: Experience leading or assisting customer joint qualification (JQ) with OEMs, hyperscalers, or strategic partners.
- Nice-to-have: Familiarity with networked storage environments, platform interoperability, and multi-system qualification flows.
- Nice-to-have: Hands-on experience with protocol analyzers (e.g., LeCroy) and third-party SSD test platforms (e.g., UNH-IOL, PCI-SIG, SanBlaze).
- Nice-to-have: Strong understanding of PCIe topology, BIOS/firmware behavior, Linux storage stacks and drivers; knowledge of NAND flash, storage architecture, and FTL development.
Education Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field is specified in the posting.
