Senior Design Engineer (SoC/RTL)

Role Summary

Full-time individual contributor on the hardware design team responsible for IP design and full-chip SoC integration for FPGA-based products. Based in Pune, the role focuses on RTL implementation, micro-architecture definition, and ensuring integration quality across FPGA projects in similar time zones.

Experience Level

Senior-level. The posting requests 4+ years of relevant silicon logic design experience and expects responsibility for design direction and mentoring.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

• Design RTL for FPGA blocks and contribute to full-chip logic architecture.
• Define micro-architecture and select/integrate third-party IP.
• Implement and review Verilog/SystemVerilog code following best practices.
• Perform SoC integration tasks and quality checks (lint, CDC, RDC, SDC).
• Ensure design quality using assertions, checkers, and automation scripting.
• Collaborate with global teams across multiple sites and time zones.
• Mentor colleagues, teach best-known-methods, and learn FPGA fabric specifics.
• Occasional travel as required.

Requirements

Minimum technical requirements and desirable skills.

• Must-have: Strong RTL design experience in Verilog and SystemVerilog, demonstrated problem-solving, and ability to work independently.
• Experience with SoC integration, defining micro-architecture, and integrating third-party IP.
• Experience with quality checks and flows: lint, CDC, RDC, SDC, assertions/checkers, and scripting for automation.
• Proven ability to coordinate work across multiple groups and time zones.
• Nice-to-have: Experience with ARM processors, AXI/AMBA, Ethernet, PCIe, safety/security protocols, debug architectures, and familiarity with FPGA-specific design use cases.

Education Requirements

BS, MS, or PhD in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field; or equivalent practical experience.
