Job Title
Staff Engineer, SoC Verification
Role Summary
Work on verification for Arm compute subsystems and system IP to ensure secure, performant, and reliable SoC solutions. The role sits within the Solutions Engineering Systems Development team and focuses on verification planning, test content development, methodology, and debug for next-generation compute platforms.
Experience Level
Senior β 8 to 12 years of experience.
Responsibilities
Deliver verification coverage and quality for SoC components and interfaces.
- Define and execute verification plans and test strategies for SoC subsystems.
- Develop and implement test content (C/C++ and verification scripts) and automated test flows.
- Drive verification methodology, specifications, and compliance testing for Arm IP and interfaces (e.g., PCIe, DDR, USB).
- Perform system-level and RTL debug; triage and report functional issues.
- Run verification checks across simulation, emulation, and prototyping environments as appropriate.
- Collaborate with architecture, IP, and software teams to close verification gaps and meet release criteria.
Requirements
Must-have:
- Proven experience in SoC verification test content and test development using C/C++.
- Expertise in Arm architecture, cores, and system IP (for example SMMU, GIC, DMS).
- Strong understanding of computer architecture and system-level behavior.
- Proficiency with shell scripting and scripting languages (Tcl, Perl, Python, or similar).
- Experience owning verification and compliance testing for complex components.
Nice-to-have:
- Familiarity with CPU, GPU, and peripheral IP (PCIe, CXL, USB, UFS, Ethernet) in an SoC context.
- Experience with RTL debugging tools and microarchitecture-level analysis.
- Hands-on verification in system environments (Emulation, FPGA, FVP), including test execution and debug.
- Knowledge of SoC security concepts and verification considerations.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics, Electrical, or Computer Engineering.
