Job Title

Staff Engineer - Signal & Power Integrity (DDR/HBM PHY)

Role Summary

Join the R&D circuits team to provide signal and power integrity (SIPI) analysis and solutions for DDR and HBM PHYs. The role supports internal design teams and customers to improve PHY performance, power delivery stability, and interconnect modeling for future memory topologies.

Experience Level

Senior level (Staff Engineer). Years of experience not specified.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Perform interconnect assessments using advanced modeling to predict channel data rates and signal margins.
  • Evaluate and recommend equalization strategies (FFE, DFE, CTLE) to optimize signal integrity.
  • Analyze and optimize power delivery systems to ensure supply stability and minimize jitter.
  • Apply statistical modeling and eye-diagram techniques for signal and power integrity analysis.
  • Document findings in reports and design guidelines and communicate results to design teams.
  • Present recommendations to customers and collaborate to optimize their system performance.
  • Track standards and memory vendor roadmaps to inform PHY strategy and methodology development.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience:

  • Deep understanding of high-speed interface signaling: s-parameters, channel loss, crosstalk, jitter, and power delivery modeling.
  • Experience with signal and power analysis methods: eye-diagram construction via statistical modeling, return loss, impedance matching, and resonant systems.
  • Proficiency with HFSS and Ansys tools, HSPICE, Raptor, and ADS.
  • Ability to generate clear technical reports and communicate findings to internal teams and external customers.
  • Familiarity with board-level construction and on-chip I/O operation; able to collaborate across multi-site teams.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience influencing PHY roadmaps or participating in standards committees and memory vendor engagements.

Education Requirements

Not specified.
