Job Title

Staff Engineer, Product Engineering (Mfg.)

Role Summary

The Staff Product Yield Engineer drives yield improvement and product quality across the semiconductor manufacturing lifecycle. This role leads root-cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions, and coordinates cross-functional teams including fab, test, design, quality, and failure analysis.

Responsibilities include supporting product qualifications, process changes, and site transfers while providing technical leadership on complex yield issues.

Experience Level

Senior-level. The posting requests at least 5 or more years of experience in semiconductor yield, product, process, or failure analysis engineering.

Responsibilities

Primary duties include identifying yield loss mechanisms and driving corrective actions across manufacturing and test.

  • Lead yield enhancement initiatives for analog and mixed-signal IC products; manage hold lots and dispositions.
  • Identify and quantify yield detractors by analyzing failure modes, affected material, defect density, and process trends.
  • Drive root-cause analysis and timely problem resolution through cross-functional collaboration with fab, test, design, quality, and failure analysis teams.
  • Support analysis, disposition, and follow-through of fabrication excursions, evaluations, and product/process qualifications.
  • Enable fab transfer resiliency by driving equivalency, risk reduction, and continuous yield and quality improvement.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience necessary to perform the role.

  • Minimum five years of experience in semiconductor yield, product, process, or failure analysis engineering.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and yield-monitoring tools such as JMP, Exensio, and KLA ACE.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead root-cause analysis, define corrective actions, and drive projects to completion.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to collaborate across engineering disciplines.
